Feel it, it is HERE (Weekend)

So in 30 minutes I will be saying farewell to the office (only for the weekend) and I will be of to Porterville with my Boyfriend aka best friend aka my everything and the 2 doggie kids! We’re going to stay in the mountain for the week at Berghoff Challets!

I am SO excited! I’m like a small child before Christmas. All the bags are packed, picnic basket ready for tomorrow..NOW JUST TO GET THERE!

On Monday it will be back to the drawing board to continue my quest to finding a new job, but this weekend there will be no cellphones…NOTHING…not by choice..just no reception!

Anyway guys and girls..enjoy your weekend and fingers crossed that a new job will find me (or I find a new job) soon!

Wow, how time has past!!!

Wow wow wow, how quickly time has gone by since last year November and so many developments!!

Unfortunately my time at Naspers has come to an end and end June I will be leaving their employment. A bit sad about it, but are also looking forward to what the future may hold. Currently looking for freelancing work or even something permanent

Elizca was born in Durbanville, Western Cape and matriculated at Huguenot High School in Wellington.  After school she ventured back to Cape Town and received het ND in Public Relations in 2002 at the Cape Technikon. (Now known as Cape Peninsula University of Technology)

During her 10 years + work experience (national and international) she have combined traditional marketing and PR with E-marketing (Online Marketing) successfully, as she believe this is the way of the future for marketing and PR in companies. Hoe nou gemaak?

Twitter, Facebook, Linkedin, Blogs en nog vele meer……………watter een om te kies of almal gebruik?! Is daar een beter as die ander?

Soos meeste van julle weet is ek die content manager van die (AWESOME) sites naamlik http://www.nuwegeskiedenis.co.za asook http://wiki.nuwegeskiedenis.co.za en ek is huidiglik besig om ‘n bemarkingsplan vir hierdie 2 sites op te stel, maar nie so “maklik” soos in die ou dae nie.

Destyds was dit maklik en eenvoudig om bemarkingsplanne op te stel want jy’t slegs gefokus op tradisionele bemarking, vandag kyk en na ‘n kombinasie van viral marketing, tradisionele bemarking en vele meer.

Maar met viral / socail online marketing, watse roete volg mens nou eintlik, want soms grens dit op spam, nie waar nie.  Ek gebruik ook bookmarking websites soos stumbleupon, delicious, laaikit en muti, wat goed werk vir my op hierdie stadium.

Google analytics is ‘n seën, want met al die tegnologie vandag en opsies wat mens het, is mens nie altyd seker watter roetes om te volg nie.

My geheim? Bestudeer google analytics in detail om te kyk waarvandaan meeste van my traffic kom en fokus op daardie sources.

Maar, en daar is ALTYD ‘n maar, hoe te werk gaan om ‘n gemeenskap op te bou op die wiki? Sien, die hele idee van my wiki is dat dat jy, die gebruiker dit run en adminstreer, maar waar om hierdie gemeenskap te source?

Ja, my websites kry uitstekende traffic, maar ek soek mense wat aktief deelneem op die wiki, en nie slegs artikels skryf nie, maar admin goedjies ook doen. Die gebruiker moet dit sien as selfveryken vir hom of haar self en om die publiek daar buite te educate.

Ek dink ons, wat gereeld heeldag op die internet sit is bevoorreg om met al hierdie tegnologie te werk en te kan verstaan, maar daar is soveel mense daar buite wat nie weet hoe ‘n wiki werk nie is dit nie ons beurt om hulle te educate nie?

Ek het ook altyd van geskiedenis gehou, en hoe meer ek deesdae met SA geskiedenis betrokke is, hoe meer kom ek agter hoe besonders ons land is. Die intriges wat deur die jare afgespeel het in ons land verbaas my en interriseer my, en hierdie inligting wil ek graag oordra aan jan alleman daarbuite.

Maar hoe om te werk te gaan om dit reg te kry?!
